Since I’m not originally from Tulsa, I like to host holiday dinners with my friends before I travel to northwest Oklahoma to visit family. For the past 5-6 years, I’ve hosted various Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners/parties. Last year, I started something new – a Thanksgiving-themed football watch party. I took everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving dishes and attempted to transform them into “football” food. It was so much fun I decided to do a repeat this year.
Here is the menu with recipes (if available):
Fried Stuffing Balls with Cranberry Pesto (pg. 41)
green bean bundles (substitute green beans for asparagus)
turkey salad on croissants [recipe coming soon - UPDATE: here is the recipe]
Confession: Just as I was writing this blog post, it dawned on me that I forgot the cheese in the corn dip. Everyone seemed to love it so I guess it wasn’t too big of a mistake. I can only imagine how good it’d be WITH the cheese.
These cupcakes are my new favorite. They could not be more easy – 2 ingredients: spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin. I added store bought cream cheese frosting to make them more dessert-ish. And I bought this adorable football stand at Michael’s and I will definitely get my money’s worht next year during football season!
We all had a good time (despite the Sooner loss – boo). Sorry to everyone not pictured, including myself!

Um, when is bunko at your house???
YUM!!!
February – hopefully I can think of something great to serve!
Um, we need to become better friends by pre-Thanksgiving next year. Thank you!
I’m still waiting on the turkey salad post…I may need to make it for my Christmas Eve brunch!
