For my bachelorette party, we decided on Austin, TX as the perfect place. And Cinco de Mayo as the perfect weekend. And we were right!! It was absolutely perfect… perfect weather, perfect restaurants, perfect hotel, perfect activities, perfect perfect perfect.
A couple of us decided to head down Thursday to make a long weekend of it. Jessica, Maria and I departed Tulsa early Thursday morning. When we arrived in Austin, Jess had organized a pedi-cab wine tasting tour around downtown. How creative and SO fun!
Our first stop was Max’s Wine Dive, and they fittingly had a wine named Daisy Hill. Next, we went to the Four Seasons (fancy fancy):
Next up was Cru Wine Bar – this place was so fun. They let us climb the ladder and take pics all over the place… I’m sure it helped that we were the only people there on a Thursday afternoon.
Back to the hotel for a nap and some photo-timer fun!
After a nap and some relaxing, we decided on dinner at Uchi – which was amazing. I highly recommend the table side fried rice, it was by far the best fried rice I’ve ever had. And the sushi was obviously amazing, very different from the sushi places I frequent in Oklahoma (shocker, I know).
After dinner, we headed to 6th street to see what was happening – we found Pete’s Piano Bar and decided to check it out. We ran into another bachelorette who so kindly let me borrow some of her “flair”.
And we were those obnoxious girls who requested BOOMER SOONER in an Austin bar… but they did play it. Although, the Wyoming fight song actually won in the battle of the fight songs – hey, at least it wasn’t Texas.
After some dancing and singing, we had a late night pizza stop and went to bed to rest up for the arrival of the rest of the group Friday afternoon.
Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3…
